A creation on the shape, configuration, or the composition of lines or colors, or lines and colors, or combination thereof in a three or two dimensional form which gives aesthetic impression and can be realized in a three or two dimensional pattern and used to produce a product, goods or an industrial commodity and a handycraft. In Indonesia design has been regulated by several Act  i.e.:

• Act No. 31 Year of 2000 regarding Industrial Design;
• Government Regulation No. 1 Year of 2005 regarding Implementation of Act No. 31 Year of 2000 regarding Industrial Design.

Design is administered by Directorate of Copyright, Industrial Design, IC Layout and Trade Secret - Directorate General of Intellectual Property - Department of Laws and Human Rights, Republic of Indonesia.

Our office handles design matters such as:

 

1. Preparing and prosecuting design application;
2. Matters related to the administrative procedure of design application, opposition of design application;
3. Recording of assignment, license agreement;
4. Design searching in Indonesia or other countries, investigation of design infringement, etc.

Documents required for filing a design application in Indonesia:

1. Power of Attorney for design to be simply signed by applicant;
2. Declaration to be simply signed by applicant;
3. Assignment of convention rights for design if the applicant is not inventor;
4. Name and address of applicant;
5. Name and address of inventor;
6. State of Incorporation or Nationality of applicant;
7. Nationality of inventor;
8. 3 (three) drawings of design;
9. Document of Priority claim (if any)
